He may be battling to be the winning coach on NBC’s hit series The Voice but Adam Levine has this year’s Sexiest Man Alive crown in the bag.
“As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn’t really think that this was on the table,” the singer tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren’t, so that’s cool.”
The L.A.-raised Levine also reveals that he cries at movies (E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial always gets him), loves to be naked and is looking forward to settling down with his fiancée, Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo. “I didn’t think marriage was for me for a long time,” the 34-year-old says. “I was ready when I was ready. That’s about as simple as it could possibly be.”
As for that incredible body, Levine credits yoga and spinning for keeping his stamina up, especially as his success continues to skyrocket. “This is just a really interesting time where everything seems to be heading in a certain direction,” he adds. “And I’m not taking any of it for granted.”

Shawl-collar cardigans and sweatshirt blazers? You’ve got to be as cool as a rock star to pull off this stuff as trendsetting style.
Of course, Adam Levine, frontman of Maroon 5 and a mentor on NBC’s “The Voice,” is.
Levine previewed his first foray into design — a menswear line for Kmart — for a small group of fashion insiders on Tuesday. “It’s great to see all the tiny things we worked on, all the little details, up close and finished,” he said.
“Honestly, I think fashion has a lot to do with when you wake up that day; a reflection of where you are, who you are and what you’re going to do,” said Levine. “I’m not making a pretentious fashion statement, but you have to put something on, and I’m not wearing a fig leaf.”
He walked into the room wearing a purple T-shirt, slim black pants and tropical leaf-print Jams. With no bling, leather or luxury labels, one could imagine Levine putting some of the mass-market product, with a price range of $14.99-$69.99, into his own closet. “I definitely dress a certain way,” he said.
Henley Ts, plaid button-down shirts, baseball caps and a camouflage cargo jacket were part of the collection that will land in 500 stores on Oct. 1. Before that, there will be flash sales for Kmart’s Shop Your Way online customers offering single pieces, available for a week, coupled with exclusive video content.
Levine joins a crowded field of pop stars that spin their style into a fashion brand: Nicki Minaj and Selena Gomez are doing it for Kmart, too, and there’s Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Gwen Stefani and Madonna, who shares her label with her daughter Lourdes. Victoria Beckham, formerly famous as a Spice Girl, is now recognized as a top-tier designer at New York Fashion Week.
“It’s all creativity. Maybe that’s where this whole music-fashion thing comes from,” Levine said.
Here’s exclusive videos of Adam at a recent design meeting for his Kmart Collection. Be sure to head on over to Adam’s Shop Your Way page to view the extended versions. And if that wasn’t good enough for you be sure to head on over to the Shop Your Way homepage to enter to win tickets to a Maroon 5/Kelly Clarkson concert!
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo have gotten back together – in a very big way!
The Voice judge, 34, and Victoria’s Secret Angel, 24 – who parted ways in late spring – are headed to the altar, Levine’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“Adam Levine and his girlfriend Behati Prinsloo are excited to announce they are engaged to be married,” the rep says. “The couple recently reunited and Adam proposed this weekend in Los Angeles.”
The Namibian model and the Maroon 5 frontman (who also appeared on American Horror Story) began dating last year, shortly after Levine split from another well-known model, Anne Vyalitsyna.
Blake Shelton lives six months of the year in Los Angeles, but he’s still a country boy through and through. In the August cover story for Men’s Journal, the Oklahoma native shows that despite his breakout turn as a charismatic judge on The Voice and his famous bromance with tattooed rock star and fellow judge Adam Levine, he’s still just a simple dude who loves his Chevy.
He hasn’t allowed Hollywood to change him, but he may be changing others. Levine, who has a genuine rapport with Shelton on and off the camera and was interviewed for the profile, recalled his visit to Shelton’s 1,200-acre ranch in Oklahoma: “I was on my way to this fancy chi-chi island vacation,” the Maroon 5 frontman says. “And afterwards, I realized I had so much more fun playing beer pong and driving quads with Blake than I did at this five-star resort.”
In the article, Shelton cops to trying to influence his friend — and not always for the better. “I get frustrated with Adam because, to me, rock stars are supposed to be drunk all the time. But he’s very healthy. He takes care of himself. And it drives me crazy, because I want him to be more like me. Drunk all the time,” says the 37-year-old singer, who’s been known to spike his own cup of Starbucks with vodka on-camera.
One of his few concessions to clean, L.A.-style living? He drinks a cold-pressed green juice once a day (“Mostly so he can make jokes about his bowel movements,” says the writer). He’s also replaced his go-to drink, vodka and diet Cherry 7–Up, with vodka, club soda, and a few drops of stevia, an artificial sweetener, because his wife, Miranda Lambert, “says its healthier,” he shares.
As it turns out, it may be Lambert who’s the only one who holds sway over him. “I don’t give her too much s–t,” he says of his love, who he reveals has a dog named Sasha Fierce (“She worships Beyonce”). “That’s like poking a bear.”
I’ve added three sets of missing photoshoots to the gallery, including those from Saturday Night Live, Men’s Health, and Entertainment Weekly. Be sure to check them out in the gallery.
